Russia is facing a worsening fuel supply crisis, with gasoline shortages or significant supply disruptions reported in nearly all of the country’s 83 regions, according to an analysis by CNN.
The shortages have forced many filling stations across Russia to introduce fuel rationing measures as authorities struggle to stabilize supplies amid persistent attacks on the nation’s energy infrastructure.
The supply crisis comes as Ukraine continues an aggressive drone campaign targeting Russian oil refineries, a strategy that has intensified pressure on Moscow’s domestic fuel production and distribution network. The repeated strikes have damaged key refining facilities, reducing gasoline output and creating logistical challenges for fuel deliveries across the country.
In response, the Russian government is reportedly taking urgent steps to prevent the situation from escalating further. Authorities are working to restore refinery operations, redirect fuel supplies, and ensure adequate distribution to affected regions.
The disruptions have sparked concerns among motorists and businesses, with reports indicating that several gas stations are limiting the amount of gasoline customers can purchase to prevent panic buying and conserve available stocks.
Ukraine has increasingly relied on long-range drone attacks to strike strategic targets deep inside Russian territory, particularly oil refineries and energy facilities that play a vital role in supporting Russia’s economy and military operations.
