Governor Approves Appointment of Prof. Samuel Asagba as New Vice Chancellor of Delta State University

Effective December 1, 2024, Asagba Takes on Leadership Role

The Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially appointed Professor Samuel Asagba as the new Vice Chancellor of Delta State University, Abraka. This decision was announced in a statement signed by Dr. Kingsley Emu, Secretary to the State Government, and shared with journalists in Warri on Tuesday.

Appointment Details

The appointment of Professor Asagba will take effect on December 1, 2024. He is a distinguished academic specializing in Environmental Biochemistry and Toxicology, with a wealth of experience in university administration.

Previous Roles and Contributions

Prior to this appointment, Prof. Asagba held several significant positions at Delta State University, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and Provost of the former Asaba campus. His extensive background in academia positions him well to lead the institution.

With this new leadership, Delta State University aims to continue its commitment to academic excellence and integrity.
