How Police Rescue 3 ABU Abducted Students

The Nigeria Police Force has rescued the three abducted Ahmadu Bello University’s students on Wednesday.

Kaduna State Police Command operatives swung into action after the three Undergraduates were kidnapped on Monday along Abuja-Kaduna highway.

Command’s Public Relations Officers, DSP Yakubu Sabo further disclosed that three other persons were still being held by the kidnappers.

“The Command on August 26, at about 18:50hrs, Armed Men in Military Uniform intercepted some commuters near Masari Village,” Sabo said.

He said: “The suspected Kidnappers opened fire on the vehicles and in the process went away with six persons.

“However, due to prompt response of the Police and other security agents, three people were later released. The  hoodlums released them due to intensive combing within the general area.”

“The three students alongside the abandoned vehicles at the scene of the incident, were moved to the Police Station.

He said concerted efforts to rescue other victims were being made by the joint teams of Anti-Kidnapping Unit, PMF and the IRT.

The Command however faulted the story being circulated on the incident. It said that the was a gross exaggeration and misrepresentation of fact aimed. “It is cable of causing more fear in the minds of the public,” it stated.

“All accounts of crimes should be verified before publication to avoid sharing falsehood.“Internet subscribers should also be cautious in sharing stories of questionable sources especially via the social media,” it said.
