I.G Orders Police Formations Nationwide To Arrest Shi’ite Leaders

Inspector General

Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, Saturday ordered all the Police formations nationwide to arrest all Shi’ite leaders

He said all identified leaders of the outlawed Islamic Movement in Nigeria known as Shi’ite should be arrested immediately.

The directive was contained in a signal dated August 30, 2019 from the Force Headquarters to all State Police Commands and Zonal Headquarters. All State Police Commands and Zonal Headquarters were ordered to carry out the directive with strict compliance.

Adamu said all structures of the disbanded group nationwide should immediate be dismantle by the police.  He said the Police Force under his watch wouldn’t allow the Shi’ite members to violate the proscription of the court.

Adamu blamed the group for the July 22 riot during which the  DCP, Umar Usman and Precious Owolabi were killed.
