Kwara State Mandates Resident Registration for Public Workers: November Salaries Tied to Compliance

By MUHAMMED DANBABA

Ilorin, Nigeria – The Kwara State Government has issued an urgent directive for all public sector employees to register with the Kwara State Residents’ Registration Agency (KWSRRA) or risk forfeiting their November salaries and bonuses. This announcement was made on Monday in Ilorin through a statement by Dr. Hauwa Nuru, Commissioner for Finance, and signed by the ministry’s Press Secretary, Babatunde Abdulrasheed.

KWSRRA Registration: A Key to Efficient Governance

The resident registration process, which commenced in July, aims to streamline state services through a comprehensive database of residents, enabling improved planning, resource management, and public safety. Dr. Nuru emphasized the importance of a valid KWSRRA registration for payroll processing, stating that any public worker without this number will not receive their November pay.

“In line with our commitment to accountability and transparency, this directive applies to all state employees, including those in the 16 local government areas,” Nuru explained.

Benefits of Resident Registration

Dr. Nuru highlighted that KWSRRA is mandated to assign unique identities to residents, aiding in the efficient allocation of resources and ensuring fair compensation.

“The integrity of our data affects all our financial and administrative systems,” she added. “A complete database allows us to make informed decisions and strengthens our processes to better serve Kwara residents.”

Steps for Registration

Employees are urged to visit the nearest KWSRRA center to complete their registration promptly. The directive reflects Kwara’s goal of fostering a more efficient and equitable system for residents and state employees alike.

Key Takeaways:

  • All public sector workers must register with KWSRRA by November to receive their salary.
  • Registration aims to create a reliable database, improve resource allocation, and enhance state service delivery.
  • The Kwara State Government underscores the importance of data integrity in strengthening payroll systems and financial transparency.
