The Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is being supported politically by an organization called Atiku 100%, which has pledged to cast 2.5 million votes for him nationwide on February 25, 2023. You may ask, who is this support group that promised to deliver 2.5 million votes to Atiku Abubakar on Saturday?
At the group’s one-day National Youth Conference, which had the theme “Grassroots Mobilization of Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Votes for Atiku Abubakar,” on Wednesday in Abuja, Mr Musa Mantu revealed that Nigerian youths were determined to deliver a significant number of votes for Atiku across the six geopolitical zones of the nation.
Mantu emphasised the mission was simply to ‘think Nigeria first; do Nigeria first; and act Nigeria first,’ so that whatever the youths do today, tomorrow and in the future, should be all about protecting the integrity and interest of Nigeria and Nigerians first.
Mantu said, “Atiku Abubakar will not only bring stability and prosperity but will also bring sustainable growth so we can usher in the fabrication of a new generation of political, business and economic leaders, manufacturing opportunities, build new enterprises, provide social Infrastructures, mentor new entrepreneurs and strengthen the small and medium scale enterprises which is the bedrock of any serious and successful country.”
Mantu said: “We have suffered way too much, this issue of japa is way too popular at the moment, the exportation and exploitation of our vibrant professionals and talents abroad are killing us softly, be it doctors, engineers, skilled and unskilled labourers, journalists, educators, enough is enough.
“We do not have any other country that we can call our own, the social deprivation, the economic starvation, the insecurity and lack of unity, ‘haba,’ enough is enough!”
Continuing, Mantu pointed out that this is a clarion call to all youths, the largest voting constituency in Nigeria, and the good people of Nigeria to vote for Atiku Abubakar as president to recover Nigeria, the only unifier, the rescuer, the liberator, the nationalist.
Mantu said: “He is the most detribalised and most experienced candidate who knows the way, can relate and can enter all 36 states, 774 LGAs, over 9,400 wards, 177,000 polling units in this country and he will be accepted, largely acknowledged and probably has touched a life or two there regardless of tribe, religion, creed or ethnicity,” he said.
He further urged the electorate to shun any form of violence or abuse on election day, cast their votes orderly and remain peaceful.
Speaking earlier Mr Kazeem Tanimum, Initiator of Atiku 100% and co-convener of the conference, stressed that the 2023 general elections will be a historic opportunity for Nigeria to get it right in its quest for good leadership, especially at the national level.
While urging Nigerian youths to shun electoral violence and any vice that could truncate the process, he also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, to put the interest of Nigeria first, and ensure free, fair and credible polls.
In her brief remarks, the women leader, Atiku 100%, Sharon Asebe, who is the national spokesperson, stated that women and ladies are all ready to vote for Atiku, because he has involved them in his programmes.
