The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially scheduled the mop-up examination for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025. This crucial exam will provide an opportunity for candidates who encountered issues during the main examination.
Who Is Eligible for the Mop-Up Exam?
The mop-up UTME will accommodate **5,096 candidates** who experienced spill-over situations and those who were unable to complete biometric verification during the initial exam. Additionally, **91,742 absentee candidates** from both the main and resit examinations will also be eligible for this unique opportunity, bringing the total number of candidates rescheduled for the mop-up to **96,838**. The examination will be conducted in **183 centers** nationwide.
Action Against Malpractices: CBT Centers Suspended
In a move to uphold the integrity of the examination process, JAMB has delisted **113 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers** due to technical deficiencies and involvement in illicit practices. These centers were found culpable during ongoing investigations into identity theft and examination malpractices. The Board commends the efforts of security agencies, including the **State Security Service (SSS)**, the **Nigeria Police Force (NPF)**, and the **Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)** for their dedication to eradicating examination fraud.
Candidates Affected by Delisted Examination Towns
Due to investigations, several examination towns have been deemed ineligible for the mop-up examination. Candidates from these delisted areas will be reassigned to the nearest available towns. JAMB seeks the understanding and cooperation of these candidates during this transition.
Combating Impersonation in UTME
The upcoming mop-up examination aims to further crack down on impersonators, including university students who have been known to take exams on behalf of others. Institutions will be notified of any misconduct, potentially leading to disciplinary actions against offenders in accordance with the **Examination Malpractice Act of 1999**.
Examination Schedule and Preparation
The first session of the mop-up examination will commence at **8:00 AM**. Candidates are strongly advised to arrive at their designated centers at least **one to one and a half hours** early to ensure a smooth check-in process.
Important Dates for Candidates
Eligible candidates are encouraged to start printing their examination notification slips beginning **Monday, June 23, 2025**, in preparation for the mop-up examination on **Saturday, June 28, 2025**.
For any further information, candidates can refer to the official JAMB website or contact their offices directly.
