NEMA provides medications to Kano hospitals

To assist flood victims and other situations, the National Emergency Management Agency supplied medications to four hospitals in Kano State.

While presenting the materials, NEMA Director-General Mustapha Habib-Ahmed stated that the donation was made to Kano hospitals by Map International.

Habib-Ahmed, who was represented by NEMA Coordinator, Kano and Jigawa Territorial Office, Nuraddeen Abdullahi, stated that the donation will supplement the Federal Government’s efforts to provide quality treatment to victims of floods, kidnapping, and banditry.

Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Bichi General Hospital, Wudil General Hospital, and Karaye General Hospital are among the facilities that would benefit.

Prenatal micronutrient supplement X100, a knee walker, a syringe, krill oil 500mg, eyeglasses, a respirator, lancet pro-care, bactine spray, a disposable barrier gown, and a sharps collector were among the goods supplied.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje praised NEMA for its assistance and advised beneficiaries to use the commodities wisely.

Ganduje, represented by Kano State Emergency Management Agency Executive Secretary Saleh Jili, asked for continued collaboration between SEMA and NEMA.

He reminded members of the public, particularly women who use firewood, cooking gas, and charcoal, to use caution when handling fire and to turn off electrical appliances when not in use.

Ganduje also urged citizens to stop dumping trash indiscriminately and to keep drainages clear to avoid flooding.

In response, Nasiru Alhassan-Kabo, Kano State Director of, Hospital Management Board, praised NEMA for the thoughtful gesture.

Alhassan-Kabo, represented by Ibrahim Abdullahi, Deputy Director Hospital Management Board, stated that the hospitals will make effective use of the equipment.
