Nigeria Resident Doctors Suspend 10-Day Strike

The resident doctors in Nigeria under the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has Saturday suspended their ten days old strike.

The industrial action which started on April 1, 2021. has paralysed the health sector.

President of the NARD, Dr Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi said: “The strike has been suspended. The government gave us some good comebacks from our negotiations.”

He reiterated that the union suspended the strike due to some commitments made by the Federal Government.

He said: “We had an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting an hour ago, and we decided to suspend the strike for four weeks.”
