NSCDC Expands Operations in Kwara State with New Commands and Divisions

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has strengthened its security framework by establishing seven new Area Commands and 11 new Divisions across the state’s 16 Local Government Areas.


Details of the Development

The announcement was made by the State Commandant, Umar Muhammed, through a statement issued by the Command Public Relations Officer, Ayoola Michael, in Ilorin.

The Commandant highlighted that this initiative aims to enhance security coverage, particularly in rural areas, and address criminal activities.


Area Commands and Divisions

The newly established Area Commands include:

  • AREA I (Lafiagi)
  • AREA J (Oke-Oyi)
  • AREA K (Agbabiaka)
  • AREA L (Patigi)
  • AREA M (Kaiama)
  • AREA N (Share)
  • AREA O (Ilemona)

The 11 Divisions now operational are:

  • Alagbado
  • Jebba
  • Kpada
  • Ilupeju
  • Shonga
  • Tsaragi
  • Oro
  • Bacita
  • Lade
  • Agbabiaka
  • Amayo

Purpose and Goals

According to Muhammed, the creation of these commands was approved by the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

“This initiative reinforces the Corps’ commitment to strengthening its presence in communities, fostering collaboration, and combating all forms of criminality,” said Muhammed.


Public Cooperation and Security Assurance

The Commandant urged residents to cooperate with the new Area Commands and Divisions, emphasizing that the Corps is dedicated to ensuring Kwara State remains free from criminal activities.

“We will ensure that Kwara State does not become a safe haven or breeding ground for criminals,” the statement concluded.
