OSUTECH Shut-down Over Tuition Hike

…As Students protest

Ondo State University of Science and Technology, OSUSTECH, Okitipupa has been shut down on Monday after students protested over the hike in tuition fees.

The protest which brought commercial and social activities to a halt on Monday also grounded academic activities on the campus and the Okitipupa axis.

Consequently, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sunday Roberts Ogunduyile has ordered the students to proceed on break and school close for two weeks.

Trouble started when on resumption, the authorities of the institution increased the tuition from N35,000 to N200,000.

Students were seen all over the Okitipupa town with various inscriptions on placards and chanting a song of reversal of the fees from N200,000 to N35,000, the students vowed to continue the protest until the management accedes to their demand.
