Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, having sighted the Moon on Thursday night announced the commencement of the Ramadan fast on Friday, 24th April 2020.
During this period, he said Muslim faithful are to fast and pray in the holy month of Ramadan.

The Sultan urged Muslims to shun congregational gatherings and maintain physical distancing throughout Ramadan as part of measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.
