Rep Empowers 400 Pupils With Educational Materials, Trading tools

A member, House of Representatives representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency, Hon. Olajide Jimoh has empowered his constituents with trading tools and free educational materials for over 400 pupils in his constituency.

Beneficiaries, which include youths and Women, went home with items such as hairdressing machines, and grinding engines
under the empowerment programme tagged, ‘Hon. Jide Jimoh’s Economic Assistance Scheme in collaboration with Borders Communities Development Agency.

Jimoh while distributing the items to youths and women in his constituency office said the aim was to support and empower the less privileged.

He said the gesture was part of his campaign promises, urging the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the materials through the establishment of small scale businesses.

Jimoh, who pleaded with those who have not been able to benefit from the empowerment scheme to be patient, he said the second phase of the empowerment scheme would take care of them.

Also speaking, the representative of  Borders Communities Development Agency, Miss Ocheme Agnes, commended the lawmaker for facilitating the program for the benefit of his constituency.

“As long as you continue to support Hon Jide Jimoh, more programs will come because this government is the government we have hope in, even when we never expected all these things to happen. We know that great things come in good ways. BCDA is an intervention agency between the Federal government and the constituencies, the lawmaker representing this constituency has been speaking your mind and that’s why you see all this today.

She stated that the items would help equip the beneficiaries to be self-employed and be the employers of labour, urging them not to sell nor keep them at various houses.

Similarly, the lawmaker also distributed education materials to over 400 students in secondary schools to aid and enhance standard education.


He said the gesture was borne out of his belief that education is key to human development, adding that it was important to support the young ones and to assist their parents.

At Ijero Girls Junior High School, Franklin, Apapa Road, Ebute Metta ( West ) where the lawmaker presented 60 leaves exercise books, mathematical set and other writing materials, the Chairman Yaba LCDA; Kayode Omiyale,  Lagos Mainland APC Chieftain; Otunba Tayo Oyemade, Chief Alade Grillo, Chief Awodani LGA Party Chairmen;  Hon AbdulRaheem Ibrahim, Hon Fagba,  Wards Chairmen, among others graced the occasion.
