Schools Reopen: Provost Tasks Schools Managements On Restricting Students’ Visitation

The Provost, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, Novena University, Ogunme, Delta State, Professor Onyebuchi Vin Ndubueze has urged the managements of schools to ensure that students don’t pay an unnecessary visit to people as schools reopen today.

This is just as he also lauded the Federal Government for reopening the schools after months of lockdown over coronavirus pandemic.

He said: ”Management of educational institutions, in addition, complying with federal govt/NCDC regulations and guidelines should be very strict in check-mating the movement of students in and out of boarding houses/hostels.

”Also, parents should warn their wards to avoid unnecessary travels to visit “uncles /aunties” for weekend parties/pocket allowances.”

Professor Ndubueze, while applauding the resumption of schools/educational institutions, said it’s necessary and important for our wards to continue with their education.

He, however, cautioned students to be self-disciplined and restrict themselves to their hostels as to minimize COVID-19 infection or spread.

His words: ”We join to thank the Federal government for the bold step in this direction.

”The resumption of schools/educational institutions is necessary and important for our wards to continue with their education.

”This does not mean that COVID-19 pandemic has been eradicated.

”Parents should warn their wards to avoid unnecessary travels to visit “uncles /aunties” for weekend parties/pocket allowances.

”Students should be self-disciplined and restrict themselves to their hostels as to minimize COVID-19 infection or spread.

”Manage what has been provided for you and avoid extravagant spending and search for unwarranted income.

”Your roaming about may put you in danger and could expose you to COVID-19 infection.

”Be warned.

”Restrict your movement and search for destructive satanic extravagant life. Return to school,  concentrate on your studies to get a good result through hard work.

”Management of educational institutions, in addition, complying with federal govt/NCDC regulations and guidelines should be very strict in check-mating the movement of students in and out of boarding houses/hostels.

”Hostel wardens should be very strict on their duties to avoid loitering of students and visitors in hostels and campuses. God bless Nigeria.”
