Taraba COVID-19 cases rise to eight

COVID-19 confirmed cases in Taraba state have risen to eight, Governor Darius Ishaku announced on Monday.

The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) last Wednesday reported six confirmed cases.

Two more cases were later discovered by the NCDC after laboratory investigations.

A statement by the Governor’s Media and Publicity Adviser, Bala Dan Abu, said the two cases are among the persons already being quarantined in the state.

Parts of the statement read: “Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, wishes to announce the confirmation of two more cases of Coronavirus infection in the state.

“The two cases are the latest cases confirmed by the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC to have tested positive after a laboratory investigation.

“They are from among the people already being quarantined at the NYSC Orientation Camp, near Jalingo.”
