Taraba INEC Commissioner, Abba Yusuf Dies

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the death of Alhaji Baba Abba Yusuf, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Taraba State.

The commission said the late REC died Saturday night at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Borno State, where he had been on admission for some time.

According to a statement signed by Rose Oriarian Anthony, Secretary of INEC, Alhaji Yusuf has since been buried in Maiduguri, according to Islamic rites.

She said the. Commission was represented by a delegation of National and Resident Electoral Commissioner.

Regretting Yusuf’s demise, the commission said the late REC was one of the most experienced RECs in the Commission, having been appointed in 2010. He had served as REC in Benue and Adamawa States.

“His experience has been invaluable to the Commission over the years.

May God grant him eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear,” Anthony stated.
