Transcorp Group Boss Elumelu, Marks World Environment Day with Tree Planting

In honor of World Environment Day, Transcorp Hotels Plc, the hospitality division of the Transcorp Group, hosted a special tree-planting ceremony to reaffirm its dedication to sustainability and environmental management.

Tony Elumelu, CFR, Chairman of Transcorp Group, attended the ceremony and personally planted a tree on the grounds of the renowned Transcorp Hilton Abuja as a symbolic gesture and a reminder that trees are crucial for reducing the effects of climate change.

Every year on June 5, the world commemorates World Environment Day as a way to promote environmental awareness and action on a global scale.

As an organisation that is committed to improving lives and transforming society, reducing carbon footprints, and preserving the natural resources that make our planet thrive, highlights Transcorp Hotels’ dedication to the United Nation’s Sustainability Development Goals, particularly those related to responsible consumption and production, climate action, and life on land.

By integrating sustainability into its core values and operations, Transcorp Hotels aims to drive positive social and environmental impacts while delivering exceptional hospitality experiences to its guests.

Dupe Olusola, Managing Director/CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc, who also planted a tree, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “At Transcorp Hotels Plc, we believe that sustainability is not just an option but a responsibility.

By planting this tree, we are taking a tangible step towards creating a greener future and will continue to implement sustainable practices throughout our operations which will inspire our guests to be mindful of their environmental impact.”
