We Have No Record Of Obaseki’s Defection – APC

BY MARY KUYE

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday in Abuja denied that Governor Godwin Obaseki has dumped the party, adding that the party has no record of his defection.

Its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, stated this while reacting to the reported defection of Governor Obaseki.

He said: “We cannot comment at this moment on media reports suggesting the Edo governor or anyone else has left our great party.

“The party has no record of the reported defection of Governor Godwin Obaseki from the Progressive party”.

Obaseki had informed he was leaving the APC on Tuesday afternoon while leaving the State House.

The party disqualified the Governor from seeking re-election on its platform on the ground of “defective qualifications.”
