YWC To Host Young Graduates From 250 LGAs

Young graduates from 250 Local Government Areas, LGAs in Nigeria would on Saturday benefitted from the August 2020 Edition of the Yoruba World Congress (YWC) Lunch with the Leader.

TheCheer gathered that all is now set for the hosting of the congress which would be chaired by Yoruba Leader Emeritus Prof Banji Akintoye.

The theme of this month’s event is Role, Responsibility & Opportunities for Young Educated Professionals in Yorubaland. Keynote speaker will be Akogun Tola Adeniyi, Media Guru, Writer, Educationist and renowned Administrator.

The event, slated for Saturday, 22nd August 2020, will start at 10 am but will have its red carpet open at 9.30 am, is open to Yoruba Graduates under 30 years of age.

Announcing the YWC Lunch with the Leader series, YWC Secretary-General, Prof Anthony Kila noted that the event is “part of our effort to educate, empower and engage our young people”

The event is put together by a YWC Planning Committee chaired by Dr Akin Adejuwon.

Secretary of the of Committee, Ms Toyin Oladimeji noted that the event will give a chance to young people to ask questions from experienced and accomplished leaders and to seek mentorship and tips about their careers.

Also speaking on the scope of the event Engr. Sylvester Olusanmi Ogundipe a member of the planning committee, observed that we are going to make sure that each of our LGA has at least two representatives. Those that can join the event in Ibadan will do so and many more will join online.

Another member of the committee Otunba Bolaji Adigun pointed that the event will be funded by YWC members and groups and he invited wiling groups, individuals and companies to come forward to sponsor the event in any way they can.

Mr Oyewale Oyegoke Esq noted that the YWC Coordinating teams in Local Government Areas coordinated by State Coordinators will be responsible for organising registered participants from their LGAs.

Prof Kila further added that the committee is very conscious of health and safety issues and will be putting in measures to safeguard participants before and during the event.

Admission to the event is by invitation only.
