Ayo Ogunsan Praises ‘Iron Lady’ CP Adelesi for Exemplary Service and Book Launch 

Dr. Ayo Ogunsan has lauded the life and work of crime-busting officer, CP Ebunoluwa Adelesi who disengaged from the Nigeria Police Force on August 31, 2023.

He praised her achievement because to enrol in the service of the country under the Nigeria Police Force and successfully disengage from the service gracefully is the blessings of the Lord.

This blessing of the Lord, according to Dr Ogunsan was what the Commissioner of Police in Kwara state, CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi enjoyed her years of meritorious service to fatherland.

The CP’s retirement ceremony which featured a public lecture and book launch had in attendance representative of the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq; Dr. Kamoru Ibitoye Yusuf, the board member of Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan; and many other dignitaries. Trek Africa Newspaper can also report that the book launched today was written by the retired CP Adelesi. The book is titled ‘Functional Police Memo’.

Dr. Ayo Ogunsan in his felicitation message at the event in Ilorin, Kwara state was full of gratitude to God for the life and work of crime-busting officer, CP Ebunoluwa Adelesi. ‘It is a great feeling, all we want to say is Glory to God. We thank God for this rare privilege given to our sister, CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi. For police officers, everyday seems like the last not giving assurance. But we thank God for CP Adelesi, day in, day out, from one location to another, God preserved her and family and we can all witness this day.’

To the celebrant, Dr. Ogunsan said: ‘Congratulations on this book launch. I salute your painstaking ability and courage to put this book together. This will invariably give an inkling into the life of a police officer. Nigeria definitely needs volumes like this. I often say that we don’t appreciate ourselves including our officers enough.’

Trek Africa Newspaper can report that CP Adelesi’s crime-fighting capacity, combat readiness, no-nonsense approach to earned her the nickname ‘Iron Lady’ in her days as police officer. Ebunoluwa Adelesi, the first-ever female CP in Kwara State, as part of her record of service included serving in Lagos State Command as CP General Investigation and in Kwara State Command as DCP (Administration) under the Ag. IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun during his tenure as Commissioner of Police of Kwara State.
