Adamawa State Records New COVID-19 Case

The Adamawa state has recorded its first coronavirus case.

The affected person is believed to have contracted the virus in Kano from where he arrived Yola about a week ago.

Secretary to the State Government, Ahmed Bashir, who is also the chairman of the state COVID-19 Containment Committee, was yet to respond to press inquiries Wednesday morning on the case.

But the affected person confirmed on phone that he tested positive for COVID-19.

The victim had gone on self-isolation on arriving Yola from Kano but he said he was moved to the isolation centre at the State Specialist Hospital on Wednesday morning after the result of his sample showed that he was positive.

“Result from my sample showed I am positive,” he said.
