Israel Army Says It Is Ready to Resume Combat Immediately

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has declared that it is maintaining a high state of military readiness amid rising tensions with Iran, warning that it is prepared to “immediately resume combat” if Israel comes under attack.

The warning was issued on Sunday by the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, during a security assessment with senior military commanders in the Judea and Samaria Division.

According to the IDF, the meeting reviewed the latest security situation, ongoing counterterrorism operations, troop deployment, and preparations for future military missions. Senior officers from the Central Command, Technology and Logistics Directorate, and regional brigades attended the assessment.

IDF Monitoring Iran Closely

Speaking during the visit, Lt. Gen. Zamir said Israel’s military is carefully monitoring developments involving Iran while continuing counterterrorism operations in Judea and Samaria.

He revealed that the military tracked a launch toward the Aqaba area earlier on Sunday, adding that Israel’s Aerial Defense Array remains on high alert to intercept any threats targeting Israeli civilians.

“We are closely monitoring developments in Iran and maintaining a high level of readiness. We are prepared to immediately resume combat and will act with great determination against anyone who harms us,” Zamir said.

Counterterrorism Operations Continue

The Israeli military chief commended troops operating across Judea and Samaria, saying their efforts have significantly reduced terrorist attacks in the area.

He noted that the current level of attacks is among the lowest recorded in recent years, attributing the decline to sustained military operations and intelligence-driven counterterrorism efforts.

Warning Against Nationalist Violence

Beyond external threats, Zamir also condemned nationalist crime within Israel, saying such acts undermine national security and weaken local communities.

He stressed that the IDF would continue working with the Israel Security Agency (ISA) and the Israel Police to combat all forms of violence and maintain stability.

Military on Multi-Front Alert

The Israeli military chief emphasized that while the armed forces remain prepared for possible conflict on multiple fronts, the security situation in Judea and Samaria continues to demand constant attention.

He urged commanders to maintain maximum operational readiness and respond swiftly to any emerging security threats in the coming weeks.

Why This Matters

The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions involving Iran and growing concerns over the possibility of wider military escalation in the Middle East. Israel’s declaration of immediate combat readiness signals that its armed forces remain on alert for any rapid deterioration in the security environment.
