Professor Folasade Ogunsola has on Monday emerged the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, UNILAG as elected by the Senate.
A total of 167 Professors were at the Senate meeting to cast their votes for two contenders- Prof. Folasade Ogunsola and Prof. Ben Oghojafo.
The results of the election show that Professor Folasade Ogunsola got 135 while her major rival Professor Ben Oghojafor had 31 votes. It was gathered that one vote was declared void. Professor Oghojafor who lost to her is also the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Management Services.

UNILAG Senate, therefore, announced Professor Folasade Ogunsola, the institution’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services) to function as the acting Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG with immediate effect.
Ogunsola was the first woman to be the Provost College of the Medicine University of Lagos before she became DVC.
Prof Chioma Agomo, the Chairman of the Senate Emergency committee announced the result to journalists after the election.
