Court Threatens to Strike Out Case Against Diezani

A Federal High Court in Abuja has threatened to strike out a charge of money laundering brought against former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison Maudeke.

Justice Ijeoma Ojkukwu handed down the threat on Tuesday when, at the mention of the case initiated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the protection lawyer, Farouk Abdallah said the Federal Government was having challenges effecting the ex-ministers extraction.

Abdallah said it was necessary to keep the case alive for the extradition process, already commenced, to be brought to fruition.
