IGP Orders Immediate Posting of 7 AIGs and 18 CPs to Strategic Offices

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed the immediate posting of seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) to strategic offices across Nigeria. In addition, 18 Commissioners of Police (CPs), who are due for promotion to AIG rank, have also been assigned to various AIG-designated offices pending approval from the Police Service Commission (PSC).

This significant redeployment, announced on Thursday by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, is aimed at enhancing police operations and reinforcing national security.

Strategic Posting of 7 AIGs to Key Zones

The following AIGs have been assigned to strategic positions:

  • AIG Margaret Ochalla – AIG FCID Annex, Lagos
  • AIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo – AIG Zone 13, Ukpo
  • AIG Fred Ekokotu – AIG Zone 11, Osogbo
  • AIG Iwo Nemi Edwin Osigboka – AIG Border Patrol Force, Force Headquarters, Abuja
  • AIG Garba Ahmed – AIG Department of Training and Development (DTD), Force Headquarters, Abuja
  • AIG Salman Dogo – AIG Zone 5, Benin
  • AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu – AIG Zone 9, Umuahia

These appointments are strategically designed to ensure effective policing across different regions and enhance security operations nationwide.

18 Commissioners of Police Assigned to AIG Offices Pending PSC Approval

Alongside the AIG deployments, 18 Commissioners of Police have been posted to strategic AIG offices while awaiting their promotions:
