Kidnapped 6 Students: We Got Intelligent Report 3 Months Ahead- El Rufai

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna said he got intelligent report of the six students and two teachers kidnapped months ago.

El Rufai said: “We got intelligent report of the likelihood of this danger three months ago.”

Mallam El-Rufai also said that his government had put in place measures he wouldn’t want to disclose to the public. ”We’ve put in place measures that I don’t want to go into details.”

El-Rufai said any bandit that comes to Kaduna could be killed. ”That is all I can say;” he said.

My Child will Remain in Public

Meanwhile,  El-Rufai has also vowed that his child will remain in public school. Mallam El-Rufai said that in spite of the invasion by kidnappers his child will public school.

El-Rufai stated this while reacting to Wednesday abduction of six students and two teachers at Engrave’s College in Kakau, Kaduna.

Governor El-Rufai spoke to State House correspondents in Abuja on Friday. He said his child should not be safer or more protected than any other child in the state.

“My child should not be safer or more protected than any other child in Kaduna State.”

Governor as Chief Security Officer of State

El-Rufai said: ”I took an oath of office to protect everyone in the State. My child is just only one of the two million children we have in schools.”Kaduna state primary schools and I have no intention of reviewing that.

“I took my child to a government school as part of a commitment I made. It, therefore, shows that I have enough confidence in the quality of our public schools.

“We’ve already given directives that all Staff of our Ministry of Education must have their own children in government schools.

”The Staff are in charge of managing our education system, their own children also must be there.

El-Rufai also spoke on the abducted six students and two teachers. Governor El-Rufai said the state government, parents and guardians of the victims are working on their release.

He also said that the security agencies were doing everything possible to secure their release.

Parents Never Withdrew Students from School – El-Rufai

El-Rufai dismissed the insinuation that parents were withdrawing their wards from schools following the reported abduction of students and teachers.

Six students and two teachers of Engrave’s College were kidnapped on Wednesday night in their hostels.

Mallam El-Rufai said that the kidnappers had made contact with the parents of the students, demanding for ransom. He also said the state government has assembled the affected parents and relations of the teachers in one place.

El-Rufai said that the initiative was to ensure one line of communication with the kidnappers to facilitate victims’ speedy release.
