President Muhammadu Buhari has said that our domestic fuel consumption has dropped by over 30 per cent, following borders closure
Buhari made the above statement Monday at his country home in Daura, while receiving a delegation of Katsina Elders Forum.
Mr Buhari also said he had not given any date for the reopening of the land borders.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu also issued a statement on Monday.
Shehu said Buhari would do the same to agriculture what he did two months into the closure of Nigeria’s land borders.

Mr Shehu said borders closure has curb smuggling activities, especially rice. ”President Buhari’s administration was betting on the same measure to rekindle the agriculture sector,” Shehu said.
Shehu said the government’s directive on borders closure would save the country billions of naira on import bills.
