Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, stated he was not looking forward to campaigning for office in 2027 or making comments about Federal Government appointments. On Saturday, he stated this in a string of tweets.
“I have been alarmed by a developing trend in which fabricated news stories and media reports are based on interviews and press statements I never gave. I recently mentioned on two occasions that I’m excited to run for politics in 2027 during a claimed Arise TV interview that never happened. The other concerns my response to potential Federal Government nominees,” Obi remarked.
He said that both claims are false, lamenting how low the politics of the country have descended to that it has become a business to manipulate the media.

For my part, I’ll keep discussing pressing national issues with reputable news and media outlets, he declared. But I’m not going to worry about those cheap distraction trolls. My attention, as well as the Obidient Movement’s, will remain firmly fixed on the initial goal of building a new Nigeria, which we both feel is doable.
