Schools Reopening: Ogun Announces September 21 For Resumption

The administration of Mr Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State Government has fixed September 21, 2020, for the reopening of schools in the State after the closed down of schools since February due to COVID-10.

Dapo Abiodun made this known on Monday in a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Kunle Somorin.

Abiodun explained that while colleges and tertiary institutions would have full normal hours, the resumption and closing hours for primary and secondary schools would be three.

He said while primary one to primary three pupils resumes for three hours between 8 am and 11 am, primary four to primary six pupils would resume at  12 noon and close at 3 pm.

According to him, Junior Secondary School 1 to JSS 3 pupils would also be in schools between 8 am and 11 am and Senior Secondary School  1  to SS 3  pupils would be in the schools between 12 noon and 3 pm.

He, however, added that early child care development and education classes from three to five years of age would not be resuming in public schools until the next phase of school reopening.

“This second phase of the reopening of schools is extended to all classes in primary and secondary schools, technical and vocational colleges, and tertiary institutions.”

“Tertiary institutions are allowed to commence reopening from 21 September 2020 as may be determined by their respective management,” Abiodun said,
