Terrorists Writes Threat Letter To Ogun Community

Panic has enveloped residents of Ishara and Ogere in Ikenne and Remo-North Local Government Areas of Ogun following the threat of attack by suspected bandits.

Our correspondent gathered that a message purportedly written by bandits who intend to attack Ishara and Ogere communities was being circulated.

A resident in one of the forwarded messages read, “I was in a prayer group yesterday when we were told that bandits wrote a letter of planned attack to Ogere and Ishara communities in Ogun state.”

A principal in Ishara was reported to have confirmed that the letter was written to the two communities.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident.

Oyeyemi however, described the letter as mischievous saying the police were on the trail of the sponsor of the letter.

Oyeyemi said, “We are investigating the so-called letter with a view of getting who wrote it arrested because some people will just sit down and think of ways of causing unnecessary panic in the mind of the people.

“We are not leaving any stone unturned in arresting the people behind the dangerous letter.”

When asked if he sighted the letter, Oyeyemi said, “We saw a composed letter, we discovered that mischief maker wrote it. Aside from that, we are not in any way relaxing on operational activities across the state so with or without any letter, we ensure that we put a very strong security arrangement on the ground to ward off any form of a situation from any angle. We are on the ground.”
