The authorities of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) have vowed to empower more women in Africa in order to use their wealth of Knowledge to develop the continent.
Speaking at the UBA Africa Continent Conversation 2023 – Innovating the Continent for Growth held at its corporate office, Lagos, its Group Managing Director, Oliver Alawuba said the bank has great plans to continually give women opportunity to thrive.
Alawuba said: “Innovating the continent for growth, aims to solve the problems in Africa, adding that the programme was part of UBA’s annual celebration to develop Africa.
He said: ” Women in Africa need to be empowered to meet the challenges of the Africa continent, stressing that women in Africa needs to be celebrated.”
” In UBA we will continue to develop programmes that would give women opportunities to contribute their quota in the development of Africa in its ramifications.
Alawuba said that the passion UBA has for women development in Africa informed the reasons over 50 per cent of UBA Board Members are women.
“”In Africa, women have the verse opportunity the continent need to unlock the development of Africa,” he said.
According to him, there is a tiny line between challenges and opportunities and no one but us in Africa can develop the continent.
