Unknown gunmen have kidnapped a Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Joseph Ajayi, while travelling along the Akure-Ikere Road in Ondo State.
It was gathered that Reverend Ajayi was travelling alone when the sad incident occurred.
A family source said the incident occurred on Monday while the clergyman was travelling in his Toyota Corolla Sedan car.
Ajayi was said to be returning from Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, and travelling to Ilara-Mokin in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State.
“He was on his way to Ilara-Mokin, very close to Akure, where his parish is situated before he was attacked and taken away by yet-to-be-identified persons,” a source said.
According to the source, the assailants have not contacted any member of the victim’s family,
His vehicle was said to have been abandoned by the roadside where the incident occurred.
