Seven missing youths leaders of Okuzu, Oba in Idemili South local government area of Anambra State have been arraigned by the Police .

They were arraigned at the Otuocha Chief Magistrate Court in Anambra East Council Area.
The youth leaders had not been seen since 11th of April, 2020 when security operatives stormed the community to seize them.

However, they were arraigned on Tuesday by the Police prosecutor, C C Ugwu at Otuocha Magistrate Court, headed by M I N Ogolo in suit -No MAN /47c/2020

The prosecutor informed the Court the defendants were bought to Otuoucha, outside their jurisdiction because of security threat in Oba.

After listening from the prosecuting Counsel, the Magistrate remanded them in custody at Enugwu Ukwu Police anti cult station

But one of the counsels to the defendants, Ugorji Nnazimuzo, has raised the alarm that what happened at Otuocha was the height of injustice.

He said said they were already putting up a petition to the National Judicial Council (NJC) against the Presiding Magistrate against what he described as an aberration.

Nnazimuzo said the prosecutor tricked them the arraignment was at Oba but quickly ran to Otuocha without notice.

Before they could get to the venue, he said the trial was already over.

According to him: “There was no fair hearing in the matter. The Magistrate got it wrong knowing the sensitive nature of the case and we are going to petition NJC on this issue.

“What happened was an aberration and total disgrace to judiciary. I have never seen this kind of thing all my years as a lawyer. A lot of things went wrong and the Magistrate did not even make an inquiry. We can’t take it.”
