Afenifere Backs Gbadebo Vivour-Rhodes for Lagos Governor

Afenifere

Afenifere,  Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group has declared their support for Gbadebo Vivour-Rhodes, the Lagos State Governorship candidate of the Labour Party.

Pa. Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Sola Ebiseni, who are leaders of the group insist that Vivour is of Yoruba origin and his ancestors played a major role in the foundation of Lagos.

This is just as Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, also rejected the election that saw the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s President-elect and asserted that Peter Obi won the election fairly.

During a recent special general meeting, the group confirmed that Peter Obi was the only aspirant with valid votes and should be declared the rightful winner.

The group’s leaders, Pa. Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Sola Ebiseni, have distanced themselves from any congratulatory message to Tinubu, reiterating their position that the next president of Nigeria should come from the Southeast based on equity and fairness.

The election, according to Afenifere, was fraudulent, with vote rigging, electoral violence, vandalism of voting materials, and deliberate voter disenfranchisement in some areas of the country.

According to the group, credible sources indicate that Peter Obi won the Presidential election and backed his move to the court to reclaim his mandate. The group urged Nigerians to come out en masse and participate fully in the forthcoming election.
