Kidnap: Redeemed Pastor Abducted In Adamawa

Unknown gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers have kidnapped another professor of Fishery at the Moddibo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola, Adamawa State.

Professor Kayode Shogbesan, a lecturer and Pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, was kidnapped on Tuesday night, on his way back from work.

A family source said on Wednesday that Professor Shogbesan, who is also a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Yola, was abducted while returning home from work.

It was also gathered that on the day Professor Shogbesan was abducted, five members of the same family were kidnapped in Ganye, headquarters of Ganye Local Government Area of the state

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, confirmed that the lecturer was abducted while returning home from the office between 8:00 p.m and 9:00 p.m on Tuesday.

This incident makes the third in three months that a professor of MAUTECH would be abducted

Recalled that Professor Felix Ilesanmi of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of the same university was abducted on November 15, 2019.

On September 30, Professor Adamu Zata of the Department of Soil Science in the same institution was also kidnapped.
