Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, has promised not to accept a cabinet post from President Bola Tinubu.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) two-term governor, Fayose, said in an interview with Channels Television’s Sunday Politics that he worked against Atiku Abubakar in the February 25, 2023 election.
Ayodele Fayose claimed that he backed Tinubu not because he needed an appointment with him but rather because he believed in him.
The anchor Seun Okinbaloye had questioned Fayose on whether he would decline the president’s offer of a cabinet position, to which Fayose had said, “I will never accept it.”
He encouraged Tinubu to name those under the age of 65 and to request younger candidates from those between the ages of 65 and 70.
He said that older people had stolen the future of the young and that it was time to give the young people a chance.
Ayodele Fayose said, “Do you expect me to work for a party that suspended my son? ” when asked why he went against his party. a gathering that kicked my son out?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Mustn’t Die in Jail, Ayomipe Jatto Warns President Tinubu
“I didn’t work for PDP in the most recent election. There’s no need to keep that a secret. In actuality, I was Asiwaju’s (Tinubu’s) employee. He comes from a good family in the South-West. The South is now turning.
The same PDP ejected my son, suspended my son, withdrew my son, and suspended me because I claimed that the South was turning. For a man who has suffered greatly in support of the PDP?”
Fayose denied that his visit to Tinubu at Aso Rock last week had anything to do with his lawsuit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
“Tinubu has no authority to halt my case with the EFCC; do you anticipate him to request that it cease or that he would contact the judge and inform him of what. I don’t want to talk since I am a defendant in the case, which has been ongoing for five years.
