Buhari’s Spokesman, Garba Shehu Apologises Over Comment On Kidnapped Schoolboys

President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, has on Friday apologised for his incorrect statement about the over 300 kidnapped schoolboys of Government Science School, Kankara, Katsina State. by the terrorists.

Shehu who stated this via his Twitter handle said: “I apologize for the incorrect communication citing that only 10 students were kidnapped at the science school, Kankara,” Mr Shehu said on Friday via his verified Twitter page.

“This communication of numbers was provided by persons that should ideally know. These numbers were seen to conflict with what was available at that time.

“Please understand that this communication was in no way done to downplay the seriousness of the situation.

“Please accept my sincere apologies on this matter as we continue to move our great Nation Nigeria forward. Thank you.”

Recall that the Kankara schoolboys numbering over 300  were kidnapped last week Friday while in school.

Shehu at the heat of the missing boys had told the BBC that only ten of them were kidnapped.

However, on Thursday, 334 were released by the kidnappers, thereby making the presidential spokesman a liar.
