Ebola Death Rate Hits 2000 In Congo

EBOLA

The  Democratic Republic of Congo’s Ebola death rate has increased to over 2000 within a year.

Government data revealed on Friday that responders battle to overcome community mistrust and widespread security problems.

”A 9-year-old girl who was tested positive for the virus after entering the country from Congo died,” Reuter said.

”The girl’s case explains the challenge medical teams face containing the disease in border territory with a highly mobile population.

”The government team overseeing the response said the number of confirmed  cases had also hit more than 3,000. Thus, this has become the second-worst epidemic of the virus on record,” Reuters said.

Despite the development of vaccine and treatments, health workers have struggled to stop the virus in remote area of Congo.

World Health Organization said the latest Uganda case highlighted the border authorities’ skills at detecting and isolating sources of transmission.
