Nigeria Records 618 New Cases Of COVID-19, As Five Die

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said that Nigeria on Friday recorded additional 618 of COVID-19 cases.

This is just as five new persons died of the pandemic today, bringing the total number of infections cases to 23,232 on Friday night. NCDC made this public through its official twitter handle.

It confirmed the new cases in 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Lagos still remains the epicentre of the virus with 259, while the FCT recorded 20.

Statistics from the health agency shows that Oyo is trailing behind Lagos with 76 cases, Katsina with 69 cases and Delta having 66. Other states with new cases include Rivers (46), Ogun (23) with Edo and Osun each recording 22 cases.
