Commissioner for Health, Taraba State, Mr Innocent Vakkai has stated that the Taraba Governor Darius Ishaku does not need COVID-19 test, adding that the governor has not displayed symptoms,
According to Vakkai, the governor Ishaku has not travelled to any of the countries infected by the pandemic.
He added that the governor did not meet with Nigerians or anyone who has tested positive to the disease.
But the Commissioner for Health said: “The governor, his deputy and members of the executive cabinet and Technical Committee and other Tarabans do not need to worry about going for a test.
“All of us have been within the state and have not exhibited the symptoms. So, there is no cause for alarm, except the need arises.”
He, however, revealed that two suspected patients from Gashaka and Zing local government areas who had a sore throat, nasal congestion and other mild symptoms of the pandemic were tested and confirmed negative by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
