Court Adjourns Kalu & Two Others’ Case Till December 5

A Federal High Court in Lagos, Monday adjourned till December 5, judgment in N7.2 billion fraud case against Uzor Kalu.

Senator Uzor Kalu was the former Governor of Abia State.

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Kalu, a former Commissioner for Finance in the state, Ude Udeogo. And a company, Slok Nigeria Limited on fraud and money laundering charges.

Justice Mohammed Idris could not deliver the judgement on Monday because he was absent in court.

EFCC had arraigned Uzo Kalu, Ude Udeogo and Slok Nigeria Limited on a 39-count charge of fraud and money laundering.

Justice Idris granted Uzo Kalu, Ude Udeogo and Slok Nigeria Limited bail because they pleaded not guilty to their charges.

Idris, who handled the case, had been elevated to the Court of Appeal. He consequently conducted and concluded the trial by fiat. (NAN)
