Catholic Priest, 3 Children Kidnap In Edo State

Father Nicholas Oboh, a Catholic Priest serving at the Uromi Diocese has been abducted by gunmen in Benin City. This is just as three children have also been kidnapped at Umelu in Edo State.

Rev Father Osi Odenore, the Chancellor of Uromi Diocese disclosed this on his Facebook wall.

According to him, Oboh was abducted on (Friday) Valentine’s day, adding that everyone should pray for the release of the Catholic priest.

Odenore said: “We are sure he is alive, and since the incident, steps have to be taken to ensure that Rev Father Nicholas Oboh is released without  harm.”

Similarly, at Umelu community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, some children were reportedly abducted by armed robbers.

The four children fell into the hands of the armed robbers when they robbed residents of Umelu community.

Our finding shows that in spite N2m ransom paid by parents only one of those kidnapped children where released.

At the time of filing this report, the Edo State Police spokesman, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, said he was not aware.
