Stand Up and Defend Your Land- Prof. Akintoye Tells Yorubas

Leader of the Yoruba people, Professor Banji Akintoye, on Tuesday, October 8, called on the southwest people to stand up and defend their land.

Akintoye made the comment when he led a delegation to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji.

He said his mission as a leader of the race is to ensure that the Yoruba takes back its pride of place in what he described as a ‘declining nation.’

He lamented that the Yoruba nation should not be producing millions of children from higher institutions who have no jobs, prospects or hope but should be a pacesetter.

Responding, Oba Adetunji thanked the Akintoye for his resolve and acceptance to work for the progress of the Yoruba race, assuring him of support always.

Meanwhile, leader of the Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo has warned that any treatment that would be meted out to vice president Yemi Osinbajo must be in accordance with the constitution.

Adebanjo who was reacting to the rumours that the presidency is moving to reduce the powers of Osinbajo, said the vice president must not be ridiculed.
