Taraba Seeks Government Intervention As Strange Disease Kills Fishes In River

Taraba State fishermen and its dwellers are calling on the Federal Government to intervein as strange disease kills their fishes in river Ibi at Ibi Local Government Area of the State.

They woke up this morning to discovered dead fishes floating on the stretch of River Ibi.

Although, some of the fishes that were still alive were recovered but with red blisters on their skin.

It was gathered that the unusual event is currently threatening the livelihood of residents of the area who make their daily bread from fishing.

In his reaction, the Chairman of Ibi Local Government Area, Bala Bako confirmed the incident, adding the incident was strange.

He, however, stated that he has informed relevant government agency on the need to come to their rescue.

Vanguard reports that the Chairman of Fish sellers association in Ibi, Danlami Sale, further called on relevant government agencies to help find a solution to the unfortunate incident currently threatening their livelihood.
