Why Fans May Not See “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” In China

“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” the most eagerly anticipated American superhero film of the year, has finally opened in theatres, and fans are raving about it. Sadly, however, Chinese moviegoers have decided not to see it.
Black Panther, according to Wion, joins a lengthy line of Western movies that have been blocked or outlawed in China.
Although the ban’s cause has not been revealed, several sources suggested it might be due to the movie’s gay relationship scene.
Although homosexuality is not strictly against the law in China, LGBTQ content in movies and television has historically been censored there.
But ‘Black Panther 2’ is not the only film slated for a ban
Additionally, the newly released DC movie “Black Adam,” starring Dwayne Johnson, might be overlooked by the Chinese audience.

Pierce Brosnan is mentioned in relation to “Black Adam” as another defence of the rule.
China sees the Dalai Lama as a separatist, and he recently appeared in photos with the family of the James Bond actor who played Kent Nelson in the film.
Speaking specifically about its box office performance in China, the first “Black Panther” movie brought in $105 million.
Speaking about the box office, numerous past Marvel movies’ records are expected to be broken by “Black Panther 2.”
Thor, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Spider-Man: No Way Home are just a few of the Marvel movies that have been banned in the last two years.
“Spider-Man: Far From Home,” released in 2019, was the most recent Marvel movie to be screened in Chinese theatres.
