Nigeria Secret Police Release Two of Igboho’s Aides

BY CHUKWUMA NNAM

Nigeria secret police have on Friday released two out of the four remaining aides of Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Subay Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho.

The two aides of Sunday Igboho who were granted bail and released on Friday include Mr Tajudeen Irinloye and Mr Uthman Adelabu after over 60 days in the incarceration of the DSS.

Meanwhile, besides the above two released,  two of the remaining Chief Sunday Igboho aides are still being detained by the DSS despite meeting the bail conditions given to them by the court.

The detainees’ lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, confirmed their release to our correspondent.

Recall that Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had on August 4, 2021, granted bail to the 12 detainees.

The accused had met their bail conditions including the provision of 24 sureties but the DSS lawyer, Idowu Awo, had kicked against the bail granted by Justice Egwuatu to four of them, claiming that they were heavily involved in the alleged offence of arms stockpiling and other criminal activities of their boss, Igboho.
