NOUN VC Tells New Students That Nigeria Needs Their Resourcefulness To Succeed

Professor Olufemi Peters, Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has told the 16,659 students who have just matriculated that Nigeria needs their creativity to succeed in the global economy.
The vice chancellor urged the students to always show society that NOUN provides high-quality education that is given with equity and open access.
He claims that this is what enables people to “learn at their own pace and wherever.”
The institution’s 23rd matriculation ceremony, according to Peters, was virtually held at each of its 108 study centers around the country.
“The new admissions, which include 4,808 postgraduate students and 11,851 undergraduate students in a variety of faculties, will join the university’s more than 150,000 returning students.
As our representatives, I thus expect you to behave properly and consistently exhibit the quality that sets you apart from your competitors to your family, friends, and coworkers, he stated.
“It is my sincere hope that you will gain the necessary knowledge and abilities at this university, as well as the necessary fortitude and fortitude to overcome the obstacles of a contemporary world of global competitiveness.
“This will provide you the opportunity to significantly raise Nigeria to its rightful position of greatness in Africa and the globe.”
He emphasized once more that NOUN is the only recognized single-mode Open and Distance Learning (ODL) university in Nigeria, carrying out its mission to provide equal access to education for all Nigerians.
Professor Olufemi Peters emphasized the openness of the university, saying that this simply implies that the delivery of services and instruction is not constrained by geographical or racial biases or distance obstacles.
