JUST IN: ASUU Deregistration Process Begins By The FG

ASUU's DEREGISTRATION PROCESS BEGINS BY FG
The Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU) is now being deregistered by the federal government.
The Congress of Nigerian University Academics (CONUA), a split off from ASUU, has been recognized as a legitimate labor union.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, will give a Certificate of Registration to the new union before today expires, a source at the ministry revealed to our correspondent on Tuesday.
The official said that the government’s action is a part of efforts to deregister ASUU in order to stop the organization’s ongoing strikes that have closed public colleges for the past seven months.
“Today, the Minister will submit a Certificate of Registration to the Congress of Nigerian University Academics on behalf of the federal government” (CONUA).
ASUU may no longer exist in our universities as a result, the source said.
